Sakhi group performs Navratri Puja

The Sakhi group associated with the Naperville Aurora Balagokulam group celebrated the Navratri Puja this year with great devotion.
Navratri is a festival of worship, dance and music celebrated over a period of nine nights. Devotees perform the ‘devi-sthaapna’ in their homes wherein they invite the Goddess and perform ‘pooja-path’ for nine days.
The puja was hosted for 9 days in different homes. The focus was to pay homage to the mother goddess and receive her blessings.

An overview on the significance of Navratri and the story behind Mahishasuramardini.
1. Lalitha Sahasranama Chanting
2. Lakshmi Ashtakam Chanting
3. Mahishasura mardini Chanting
4. Mantra Pushpam chanting
5. Aarti accompanied by Durga Aarti singing
6. Karpoora Gauram chanting
7. Partaking of Prasad.
The puja kit was created with a beautiful picture of Navdurga. The prayers lyrics were available in Hindi, English and Kannada.
It was well attended with over 15 ladies each day. It was an excellent opportunity to spread the Hindu culture and traditions.
